The Flipkart Big Billion Day

The much hyped billion day ended up in a real bad shape. The company just managed to earn more black marks in it’s credibility account. The Flipkart phenomenon was already making people suspicious and this event managed to send more people to that group.

What exactly made it a bad day?

The Flipkart version

1) It was the technology made them fail. The actual traffic was much more than the anticipated increase in the traffic and they failed to serve everyone.

2) They failed to bring enough offers as per the demand. Most of their best deals finished in few seconds and others found it fishy with minimum offers.

The government of Kerala is having a 10 year plan to ban Alcohol completely. Interestingly most of the political parties except the left welcomed the move. As always the left is finding it as a method to fool people and they are concerned about the employment of people working in associated jobs. Political opposition is a common practice in this part of the world. The particular issue managed to create two separate groups of people.

Why should Modi contest from two seats?

Every other party asking this question these days. Most probably the cadres of his own party might have the same question in their minds. Let’s check.

If Modi wants to win safely he can select one of the BJP bastions in Gujarat like East Ahmedabad or Vadodhara. Even the strongest opponent will agree his victory before elections. But Modi does not want to get a Gujarat leader label on him. He wants to emerge as a national leader. The easiest way is contesting from Uthar Pradesh. There are some strong holds in UP for BJP but none of them are sure bets. BJP manages to win in UP only because of the split of votes caused by the multi angular fights. When Modi is the candidate a candidate supported by multiple parties may emerge and challenge his easy walk over. Let’s have a look at the history of Varanasi.

Some Women’s Day thoughts

We are in an era of woman empowerment. That  does not mean that women are empowered. There are successful women, may be more number than the past decades that is not enough to claim empowerment of woman.

International women’s day is celebrated from 1977 as an initiative of the United Nations. It is nice to have a day to remember and respect a class but it should not be limited to one day. The day should be a reminder of responsibilities of the society than a day to showoff.
